A grenadier's diary [manuscript]. 1842-1856.

Copy of an anonymous manuscript consisting of personal narrative, historical reflections and diary entries, based on the experiences of life and conditions of a grenadier in the British Army from enlistment in 1842 until 1857. Includes a detailed account of life and conditions of service in India from 1845-1857 and contains brief references to Australia. Typescript also includes a preface by Bernard A. and Doreen E. Carter, 1973 Apr. 11, and a copy of part of a newspaper clipping attached to the fly-leaf of the original manuscript.
